Avalon; The Legend Lives is a beautifully written RPG role playing game world environment
of enormous depth, complexity and game choice possibilities. Even so, much help and
guidance is available to the complete role playing novice. Avalon is totally original in its
conception and creation and has spawned many online game imitators, none of which
have come close to matching its features or evocative descriptions and use of language, probably because it is still evolving even as you read this.
Avalon provides an enormous but easily navigable web site for any additional help players cannot find through the comprehensive help system within the game or by asking their fellow players, plus a detailed
history of the land. There is also an advanced Java client for immediate online
play from your web browser which means Avalon can be played without the need for downloads or shop-bought software. |
GURPS

GURPS: the Generic Universal
Roleplaying System, is just that - one set of rules that works for
all genres. Over 150 different worldbooks, sourcebooks and adventure
books have been created for GURPS, and at least a half-dozen more
are made every year.
For those of you who wish to control your own role playing environment
and build your own campaigns , but don't know where to start, these
books offer a comprehensive foundation for all genres and time frames. |

Armageddon

A Role playing MUD game based in the harsh climate of the desert planet known as Zalanthas, where, curiously, a number of different character 'classes' can be found such as elves as well as humans. Although this is a MUD environment the emphasis is very much on role playing and out of character actions can be penalised heavily. One of the things this means is that before you play you must submit a character description and 'history' by e-mail which will be vetted and either accepted or rejected. Once your character is killed in this game then it is gone for good and you must create a new one, but you must NOT use information gained by previous characters to advance your next character. Such cases of abuse along with a number of others are judged 'The Staff'. The very fact that this online RPG has been around for over a decade tells you that some very dedicated people are involved in running and playing play this game. Previous mudding and role playing experience is recommended as well as a competent MUD client. |
